Capsicums (Peppers)

Successful cultivation of capsicums require that the plants are supported for stability. Considering the height the plants are grown to in commercial greenhouses, twine with high strength and low elongation (stretchability) is recommended.
Earthtwine® INDOOR twine is recommended for capsicums (peppers) both sweet and bell varieties. This twine is strong enough to support plants without sagging and to keep them straight, but soft enough to not damage the stems.
Capsicum (pepper) plants supported to grow in rows develop better quality fruit with even light exposure and less risk of damage to fruit. Harvesting is also more efficient with the fruit being more visible to pickers.

In addition to our compostable twine options, we also have compostable clips to complete the set up. Using both a compostable twine and compostable clips, mean that there is no need to retrieve clips from the material going into compost. Everything can be composted together.
Earthvine® compostable stem clips are used to attach the twine to the stem.
