Earthvine® Compostable Greenhouse Clips

To complement Earthtwine® compostable INDOOR twine, we have developed compostable clips to use alongside it. By using compostable clips in conjunction with compostable twine, there is no need to hunt for and retrieve clips before the used twine and plant material goes to compost after harvest. They can all be composted together.
How to use stem clips

The compostable stem clip is usually placed just above a fruit truss or at a joint where it also grips the compostable twine. By holding the plant upright, this setup provide support without damaging the stem.

EARTHVINE® COMPOSTABLE STEM CLIPS

The stem clips are used to secure the twine to the plant stem to support the growing plants. This practise helps to prevent the stems from bending or breaking under the weight of the growing plant, reducing stress on the stems. Keeping the plants upright while they are growing also helps to maximise space in the greenhouse.

Earthvine® Compostable Stem Clips

By using clips, rather than twisting the stem around the twine, nutrients flow more easily along the stem, making for a healthier plant and improved fruit development.

EARTHVINE® COMPOSTABLE TRUSS CLIPS

Truss clips (truss arches) are used to prevent tomato stems from kinking or snapping under weight of developing fruit. A kinked or damaged stem prevents nutrients and water from flowing optimally to the fruit, which leads to smaller or fewer tomatoes. This is particularly problematic for cherry tomato varieties.
